While I was in the process of setting up a test domain so I can see how easy/hard it would be to build a TFS environment with all the latest bits (Windows Server 2012 R2, SQL Server 2014, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with SP1, and Team Foundation Server 2013 with Update 2), I ran into a bit of a problem with my SharePoint PassPhrase.

While I was configuring the Secure Store Service, it was not taking my PassPhrase. I’m not sure what happened, but I know when I first set up the PassPhrase, I didn’t use any special characters. When I tried to enter in the PassPhrase for the Secure Store Service, it wanted it.

I’m certainly no SharePoint expert by any stretch of the imagination so I found a really good article explaining what what the PassPhrase is for and how to reset your Farm PassPhrase.

SharePoint Farm PassPhrase: What is it? How to Reset?

Once I ran through these directions, I was able to get my environment online without any issues.

Share and enjoy!

My Forty-Two blog is back online. It's a new year, full of new possibilities. So with that, I'm trying out a new blog engine. I could not have predicted the things that happened in 2011 and I certainly have no idea about the future, but I can at least get out what I'm thinking.

So with that said, let's just sit back, relax, and enjoy what the new year has in store for us.
